April 11, 2019:  Our World War I reports are due tomorrow. God’s blessings to our 8th grade students who will be confirmed this Sunday.

April 4, 2019: Don’t forget 8th grade students that Confirmation pictures will be taking place this Sunday, April 7th at church at noon. They are to bring their Confirmation robes with them. Picture forms were handed out to the 8th graders a few days ago. World War I Reports are due Friday, April 12th.

March 28, 2019: We will be having a history test on chapter 23 on Tuesday, April 2nd. Book reports for the Fourth Quarter are due Tuesday, May 21st.

March 21, 2019: The 8th graders are busy working on their essays for their confirmation which will be taking place on Sunday, April 14th. 

March 14, 2019: Nice job kids with your projects and presentations at our Open House. In history, we will be starting a unit on World War 1. We just started reading a new book called Under the Blood Red Sun. It’s about a Japanese-American family living in Hawaii at the time of the bombing of Pearl Harbor. They learn to deal with friendships and prejudice.

March 7, 2019: Our class is looking forward to demonstrating their latest robotic projects to the visitors at our Open House this Sunday. They will also have their camp journals on their desks this Sunday for those interested in reading them. There will also be some other individual projects in the room for you to look at.

February 28, 2019: Our class enjoyed a wonderful week at Leelanau Outdoor Center this past week. I would like to thank Bryan Schwab and Frank Gilbert for driving and being chaperones. I would also like to thank the PTO for helping with the costs. We truly appreciate it. The students will have journals about the camp on display for our Open House on March 10th

February 21, 2019: We are at Leelanau Outdoor Center this week. We look forward to bringing back some exciting news of all the fun things we did and learned.

February 7, 2019: The final details for Leelanau Outdoor Center have been made. The students will be bringing home one more final permission slip tomorrow. Please don’t forget to hand in the other forms that were sent home a few weeks back

January 31, 2019: We will be finishing our last of the achievement tests on Monday.

January 24, 2019: If there are any other parents that will be attending Leelanau Outdoor Center, I need to know by this Monday. I have two so far. You will also be receiving more information about the camp next week.

January 17, 2019: As long as we don’t have any more snow/ice days, we should be having our next English test this coming Monday. Starting next week, our class and also grades 3-6 will be taking another round of achievement tests.

January 10, 2019- It’s nice to have the students back at school and ready to learn. Our book reports are due Tuesday, January 15th. I will be attending a principals’ meeting tomorrow in Sebewaing. We will be finalizing some important information regarding Leelanau Outdoor Center. I will pass that onto you next week. Be looking for a packet soon.

December 13, 2018- Be on the look-out for information about the Leelanau Outdoor Center that we will be attending on February 18th - 22nd. Children may bring treats to class for our party on Thursday, December 20th if they wish.

December 6, 2018- Book reports for the Second Quarter are due Tuesday, January 15th. We have a math test tomorrow and a history test on chapter 19 scheduled for Thursday, December 13th

November 29, 2018- Our students have just started working on learning their parts for the Christmas service which will take place on Thursday, December 20th at 6:00 pm.

November 15, 2018- We are finishing our last chapter in our novel Freedom Train-The Harriet Tubman Story. We will be starting a new book after Thanksgiving break. In Science we are studying physical and chemical properties. We will be having a test in history on chapter 18 on the Wednesday we get back from Thanksgiving break, Wednesday, November 28th.

November 8, 2018- We will be starting a new section is science next week. We will be looking at matter, mass, weight, and density. In history, we begin learning about the Western frontier, the mining boom, and struggles of the Native Americans. Thank you Ron and Julie Seymour for allowing us to visit your place of business. The children enjoyed their experience.

November 1, 2018; We will be having an English test on chapter 2 this coming Monday. We will also be having a test in history chapter 17 this coming Tuesday. Don’t forget to study! We continue studying the life of Martin Luther in religion class. Our kids did a great job singing in church last Sunday!

October 25, 2018- One final reminder, our First Quarter book reports are due Tuesday, October 30th. We learned in science class what causes tides and how the Earth, Moon, and Sun interact with each other. Our class will also be attending Mr. Seymour’s machine shop for a field trip on Monday, November 5th, in the morning. A note is coming soon! 

October 18, 2018: The students did a nice job on their Civil War reports. They are posted in the hallway at school for you to look at. After finishing a unit on the American Civil War, we are now looking at the Reconstruction period. Our First Quarter book reports are due on Tuesday, October 30th.

October 4, 2018: We will be having a Civil War test on Tuesday, October 16th. Their Civil War reports are due Wednesday, October 17th.

Sept 27, 2018: We just started a unit on The American Civil War in history. In Science we are learning about the 8 planets in our solar system (sorry Pluto). Did You Know?​: The first 4 planets are known as the Terrestrial Planets and the other 4 are known as the Gas Planets.

Sept 20, 2018: We have our first history test of the year tomorrow. It will be on Chapter 15. We started our first French class this week. We are so blessed and fortunate to have Madam Mantei teach French not only to our class but also to grades Kindergarten thru 6th grade as well. We also started robotics this week. A big thank you goes out to Mrs. Seafert for working with the students. She does a fantastic job.

Sept 13, 2018: Our students have been doing a nice job with writing short essays. They are also working on a new keyboarding program to help them with their keyboarding skills. Our first math test of the year will take place this Tuesday and our first history test of the year will take place next Friday. Good luck students and study hard! We just began reading the novel Freedom Train-The Story of Harriet Tubman. Harriet Tubman was a slave herself and helped many slaves escape to freedom in the North. In Science class, we are studying about our universe. We are learning about our solar system, the planets, and other galaxies and how God is the creator of all. 

Sept 6, 2018: I am so looking forward to teaching this class. It should be a good year! Our first spelling test of the school year is tomorrow. Study hard kids and you will do well.
